제목 Mechanical Properties of PLAs Containing Various Acrylic Impact Modifiers
초록 In this study, PLA was blended with three types of acrylic impact modifier to improve the mechanical properties of PLA. Three commercially available impact modifiers, namely, IM810, IM812, and EM600, each with butyl acrylate core and methyl methacrylate shell, were used. PLA/acrylic impact modifier blends were prepared by melt blending in a Brabender. The effect of adding up to 10 phr of the impact modifier on the mechanical properties of blends was investigated by UTM and Izod impact tester. The Izod-fractured surfaces were examined by SEM to study the fracture mechanism of the blends. In addition, thermal properties of blends were characterized by DSC and TGA.
