제목 Effect of polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) on morphology and mechanical properties of poly(L-lactic acid)(PLA)/poly(butylene adipate-co- terephthalate) (PBAT) blends
초록 Small amount of trisilanol phenyl POSS (Tsp-POSS) which has three silanol and seven phenyl groups on the Si corners was incorporated into biodegradable  poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/poly(butylene adipate-co- terephthalate) (PBAT) (80wt/20wt) blends by a melt blending in an internal mixer. The effects of Tsp-POSS on phase morphology and mechanical properties of PLA/PBAT blend were examined by means of FE-SEM, tensile testing, DMA and Izod impact testing. It was revealed that the POSS induced finer phase morphology of the PLA/PBAT blend and improved the tensile strength, tensile modulus as well as izod impact strength, indicating a compatibilization effect of the POSS in the immiscible PLA/PBAT blend.
