Nanodiamond (NDs)-composited fibrous poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) matrices were fabricated using the electrospinning. The PCL (ND/PCL) matrices contained with ND were fabricated with different ND concentrations (0.5, 1, 2, and 3 wt%) to give optimum tensile properties and preosteoblast activity. The ND/PCL matrices containing 1 wt% of ND showed the highest Young’s modulus and tensile strength through UTM (universal testing machine) test result. In vitro cell experiments using the mouse fibroblast (NIH/3T3) and mouse calvaria-derived preosteoblast (MC3T3-E1) cell lines showed that the ND/PCL matrices containing 1 wt% of ND facilitated the proliferation of MC3T3-E1, but did not no significant affect the proliferation of the NIH/3T3 cells. |
