Quantum dots (QDs) have attracted significant attention in various applications because of their interesting optical properties such as a broad excitation wavelength, narrow emission band, size-dependent emission wavelength, and high quantum yield. Stability of QDs against the heat, photo-oxidation and moisture still needs to be improved. In this study, to strengthen the stability of QDs, we encapsulated QDs with polymeric microcapsules composed of multi-lamellae and successively coated with the amorphous SiO2 on the surface via sol-gel reaction. And we also investigated three kinds of pretreatment methods: photo-irradiation, ligand exchange and surface modification to maintain absolute quantum yield (absQy)of dually encapsulated QDs. Encapsulation and the pretreatment conditions were developed by monitoring absQy and emission spectrum. |
