Detection of Flavonoids using β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) derivatives introduced SERS-based Nanosensors |

Ethylenediamine-conjugated β-Cyclodextrins (EN-β-CD) were introduced on the surface of silver nanoparticles-embedded silica nanoparticles (SiO2@Ag@EN-β-CD NPs) as a capturing ligand of flavonoids. The Ag NPs embedded structure provides hot spots and the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) signals are obtained. EN-β-CDs on the Ag NPs form complexes with flavonoids by host-guest inclusion. In this study, the prepared SiO2@Ag@EN-β-CD NPs were reacted with several flavonoids, such as quercetin, hesperetin, naringenin, and luteolin. And their Raman scattering signals were measured. Among them, luteolin showed the best working range (10-7 to 10-3 M) than other organic compounds. The signal was maintained even after five times of washing. |
