We describe here the construction of polyurethanes were prepared by furan-based diol and hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI). Furan derivatives are considered as one of the promising biomass-derived flatform chemicals for replacing petroleum-based fuels and specialty chemicals. In this study, novel bio-based polyurethanes using several diols as 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan (BHMF), 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydrofuran (BHTHF)… were synthesized with different conditions, and properties characterizing was conducted. The structures of the obtained furan-based monomers and resulting polymers were confirmed by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR spectroscopies. Moreover, the molecular weights of resulting polymers were characterized by GPC and their thermal properties were identified by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). In addition, their barrier properties were studied. |
