Plasmonics and organic photovoltaics fields are working together to improve the absorption of sunlight and the photon-electron coupling lift up the performance of devices. Gold nanostructured mateals are key factors that influence the light absorption in the devices. It is shown that a careful choice of size, concentration, capping agent of gold nanostructured materials and shapes of material in the device result in an enhancement of the power conversion efficiencies when compared to standard organic solar cell devices. We have systematically explored how plasmonic effects influence the characteristics of polymer photovoltaic devices (OPVs) incorporating a blend of poly[4,8-bis[(2-ethylhexyl)oxy]benzo[1,2-b:4,5-bA]dithiophene-2,6-diyl][3-fluoro-2-[(2-ethylhexyl) carbonyl]thieno[3,4-b]-thiophenediyl](PTB-7) and [6,6]phenylC71butyricacidmethylester (PC71BM). |
