Silver nanoparticles have been widely used as optical and electronic nanodevices because of their high electrical and thermal conductivities. In this study, the effect of gamma-ray irradiation on the formation of silver nanoparticles in PVA film was examined aqueous PVA solution was poured on a petri dish, and then dried to make a PVA film. The PVA film was dipped in aqueous silver nitrate solution, and then was irradiated by gamma-rays to prepare silver nanoparticles. The silver nanoparticles in the PVA film were investigated by ultraviolet-visible spectrometer and field emission scanning electron microscope. The results showed that the silver nanoparticles film prepared in these processes have the potential for applications in nanodevices. |
