제목 Optical Memory Associated with In-Plane Optic Rotation in Binary Liquid Crystal Gratings Doped with Azodyes
초록 Liquid crystals (LCs) doped with dye molecules have been extensively studied for optical device applications such as diffractive elements and optical memory storage due to the optical amplification of the LC reorientation by means of the photo-sensitive properties of the dyes. We describe a rewritable optical memory effect associated with the in-plane optic rotation in a dye-doped LC grating structure with inter-polymer networks. The optical memory in our LC grating shows high efficiency and requires no erasing step prior to every rewriting process. The rewriting capability of our dye-doped LC grating in a single control scheme allows for the simplicity and flexibility in implementing it a variety of optical systems.
