The purpose of this study was to fabricate POX/SF blend film which can be degradable faster than SF film and evaluate physicochemical and biological properties to apply as an equivalent for CEnCs. We synthesized 80 K POX and mixed into degummed SF in HFIP with various ratio (1:3, 1:1, and 3:1). Each silk and POX were studied as controls. Physiochemical properties such as transparency, chemical structure and thermal stability, in vitro degradable test and biological test such as cell morphology, formation of single layer, specific marker expression also were conducted. Through these results, we demonstrated that POX showed significant effects on parameters such as physical properties for corneal endothelium equivalent. Thus, we concluded POX/silk fibroin film has potential as an equivalent for corneal endothelium.
