제목 Preparation and Characterization of Small Intestine Submucosa Sponge for Biomedical Applications
초록 Porcine small intestine submucosa (SIS) as a new material mainly composed of collagen and glycosaminoglycan has been widely used as organ reconstructions without immuno-rejection responses. Chemically-crosslinked SIS sponge was prepared and characterized as bio-interactive wound dressings and tissue engineered scaffolds. 1 wt% of SIS powder was dissolved in 3% acetic acid aqueous solution at 4 for 15 min. The prepared SIS solution was poured into silicone mold and fabricated by freeze-drying and then crosslinked with 1-ethyl-(3-3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC) solution (H2O:ethanol=5:95) for 24 hrs. The crosslinked SIS sponges were washed in DW by sonicator and then re-lyophilized. The SIS sponge was observed a uniform distribution of good interconnected pores from the surface to core region. The SIS sponges were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and mechanical analysis. In conclusion, it seems that SIS plays an important role for tissue construction for biomedical applications.
