Modularly Constructed Polymer-Caged Nanobins as a pH-Responsive Drug-Delivery Platform for Smart Nanomedicine |

Clickable polymer-caged nanobins (PCNs) were modularly prepared from liposome templates using a drop-in cholesterol-terminated poly(acrylic acid) modifier that can be crosslinked with diamine linker to create a protective shell around the liposome core. These PCNs possess pH-responsive characteristics that can be used to trigger the release of encapsulated payload inside the liposomal core under mild acidic conditions. The PCN strategy additionally allows for the incorporation of targeting groups and other drugs into the protective shell to provide synergistic effects on cancer treatment. |
