제목 Degradation and Drug Release of Biodegradable Poly(ε-caprolactone) Microcapsules
초록 In this work, biodegradable poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) microcapsules are prepared by solvent evaporation method. The form and features of PCL microcapsules for the manufacturing conditions are observed by image analyzer and scanning electron microscope, respectively. According to the results, the microcapsules are made in wrinkle and spherical forms. The changes of molecular weight of the PCL microcapsules and films with the degradation time are measured by gel permeation chromatography. As a result, the reduction of molecular weights for the microcapsule is a little more than that of the film. This means that in these conditions both samples have degraded but the degradation rate of microcapsules is a little faster than that of films. The drug release profiles from PCL microcapsules are prepared with different concentrations of emulsifier in ethyl alcohol characterized by UV/Vis. spectra. It is found that the drug release rate of the microcapsules prepared with high concentration emulsifier is significantly fast. This result is attributed to the fact that interface is increased by decreasing the size of microcapsules with high concentration of emulsifier.
