Polymer organic solar cells based on the interpenetrating network of electron donor and acceptor made from the solutions of conjugated polymers have grained considerable interests.3-9 Although ~ 3 % power conversion efficiency have been reported in recent years, for practical applications, factors which limit efficiency including poor stability of the active layer under the illumination, poor overlap between the absorption spectrum of the polymer and solar spectrum, phase segregation, and low mobility of charge carriers, particularly electrons, must be overcome. To improve the power conversion efficiency as the result of the enhanced optical absorption of incident photon within the active layer and reduced charge transfer resistance, conventional heterojunction structures were modified and photovoltaic properties of novel solar cells will be discussed. |
