제목 | A study of side chain length effects in polyfluorene using polymer blends in polymer light-emitting devices |
초록 | We made the devices to observe the effects of the side chain length of polyfluorene (PF) in PF/poly(2,2'-ethyloxy)-5-methoxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene) (MEHPPV) blends. PFs used in this experiment were poly(9,9-dihexylenefluorene) (PDHF), poly(9,9-dicyclohexylheptylfluorene) (PDHHF), poly(9,9-dioctylenefluorene) (PDOF). The side chain length of PFs is 7.64Å(PDHF), 10.18Å(PDOF) and 13.13Å(PDHHF). As the amount of MEHPPV increased from 1wt% to 3wt%, the threshold voltage decreased 1~3V because the excitons were firstly made in MEHPPV phase having lower band gap than PFs having higher band gap. In PL and EL, the efficient energy transfer was observed in PDHF/MEHPPV while inefficient energy transfer occurred in PDHHF/MEHPPV. As a result of this study, as the side chain length of PFs decreased, PL and EL properties increased due to efficient energy transfer and charge transfer. |
