Sn oxide react with Li-ion and form Sn grains and Li2O in the first charge. During the substantial charge and discharge, the Sn works as the active material and the Li2O work as the inert matrix surrounding the active Sn grains, suppressing the capacity fading. We report on the anodic behavaior of CaSnO3 in a similar concept and demonstrate that nano-crystallites as high capacity anode material for Li-ion batteries with capacity retention and rate capability. The structural and electrochemical characterization of CaSnO3 as active material was performed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and cell test. |
