LiFePO4 is an attractive candidator for the cathode material in lithium ion battery based on inexpensive and non-toxic. In addition, LiFePO4 has a large theoretical capacity of 170 mAh/g and good cycle stability. However, LiFePO4 has poor rate capacity, which is attributed to low electronic conductivity (~10-9Scm-1). Recent research has suggested that this limitation of conductivity can be overcome by adding a conductive material on synthesizing the LiFePO4 powder. In this study, LiFePO4/C cathode powders were prepared by spray pyrolysis. The effects of carbon source on electrochemical properties of LiFePO4 cathode powders prepared by spray pyrolysis were investigated. |
