Preparation and Characterization of Highly Porous Activated Carbons Synthesized by Polythiophene/KOH Composites for Hydrogen Storage Capacity |

In this work, we have synthesized polythiophene (PTh) using a chemical oxidative polymerization. The activation process of PTh/KOH composites was carried out as a function of activation temperature to obtain the highly activated carbons (P-AC) for hydrogen storage. The specific elements were confirmed by XPS. The structural feature was characterized by SEM measurement. The textural properties were proved by nitrogen sorption analysis. The hydrogen storage capacity was evaluated by PCT isotherm measurement at 298 K/100 bar. From the results, it was found that the hydrogen storage capacity was enhanced with increasing the BET surface area, resulting from the formation of micropore on the P-AC samples. |
