Modulation of coupled surface plasmon band of position selective Ag and Au nanoparticles in block copolymer films by single-walled carbon nanotube |

Carbon nanotubepolymer composites have recently emerged as new functional materials that can realize a recent demand of transparent and flexible electronic components for various electronic and optical applications. Incorporation of metallic nanoparticles in SWNTs/polymer nanocomposites imparts further benefit owing to unique collective properties. we modulate the coupled localized surface plasmon band of thin film PS-b-P4VP copolymer micelle/SWNTs nanocomposites with position controlled Ag and Au nanoparticles. Ordered spherical PS-b-P4VP copolymer micelles film with Ag nanoparticles encapsulated P4VP core and Au nanoparticles sequestered between the PS coronas respectively offer the coupled surface plasmon band. The noncovalent dispersion of SWNTs in the block copolymer micelles shifts the coupled localized surface plasmon band to the lower wavelength region and has the potential to be used as components of nanoelectronic circuits and waveguides in molecular sensor application. |
