Semi-fluoroalkyl chain is well known for self-organization and micro-segregation that is consequence of intermolecular interaction between hydrocarbon and fluorocarbon chains. Self-organization of semi-fluoroalkyl chain could lead to tightly ordered structure providing efficient charge transport. Therefore, we introduced semi-fluoroalkyl chain to semiconducting polymer and investigated effect on crystallinity and mobility. In this study, semi-fluoroalkyl chain substituted polythiophene is synthesized via GRIM polymerization method. This polymer is characterized by using 1H-NMR, GPC, DSC, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and CV (cyclic voltametry). Furthermore, analysis of crystalline structure and morphology is performed by XRD and AFM measurement. In order to demonstrate the influence of semi-fluoroalkyl chain on OTFT performance, we fabricated organic thin film transistors (OTFT) that based on polythiophene with semi-fluoroalkyl chain. |
