Polyelectrolytes are water-soluble polymers containing multiple pendant charges. Polyelectrolytes are sensitive to minor perturbations (high sensitivity), due to amplication by the collective response (polymeric nature), which offer advantages when compared with small molecule counterparts. The amplified fluorescence sensitivity of biological detection is the key feature used in biosensors. Herein, the use of anionic water-soluble conjugated polymers (CPs) for sensing of biopolymers by virtue of a cationic quencher was studied. The fluorescence of MPS-PPV was quenched by PABH through electrostatic attraction, the quenched fluorescence of MPS-PPV was recovered by biopolymers which was attributed to perturbation of the interaction between MPS-PPV and PABH as PABH is a good biopolymer binder, accordingly, the biopolymers was detected. |
