Poly(glycerol sebacate) (PGS polymer), a tough elastomer, has been proposed for tissue engineering applications due to its desired mechanical properties, biocompatibility and controlled degradation. Acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (Acrylic PSAs) are used as pressure sensitive adhesives in various application fields. In order to apply the pressure-sensitive adhesive to the microneedle patch, it is necessary to control the hydrophilic property. In this study, we fabricated a pressure-sensitive adhesives by blending of PGS polymer and acrylic PSAs. The blend of PGS polymer and acrylic polymer improves adhesion of the polymer and can control the hydrophilicity. In order to improve miscibility with PGS polymer, we additionally synthesized acrylic polymer with hydrophilic properties using free-radical polymerization. Synthesized polymers and blending properties were characterized FT-NMR, FT-IR, DSC, AFM and contact angle analyzer. |
