제목 Heat resistance of quantum dot encapsulated in polymeric cylindrical microcapsule
초록   Since the quantum dot (QD) has outstanding and novel optical properties based on the quantum confinement effect, the QD has come into the spotlight as a promising nano-sized fluorescent material which will lead the next generation display technology. The optical properties of QD, unfortunately, are easily quenched by heat, moisture, and oxidants so that it must be protected from these environmental factors. In our previous works, we securely encapsulated the QD in microcapsules shaped like pumpkin seed which formed by 2-dimensional crystal planes using semi-crystalline polymer. In this study, we try to encapsulate the QD in the cylindrical microcapsule formed from self-assembly of amorphous block copolymer. The capsuled QD has the stable luminescent property with high absolute quantum yield. We also apply the capsuled QD to the optical film and LED where it shows high thermal resistance for prolonged test.
