Organic photovoltaic cells have drawn broad attention in recent years, owing to their advantages of easy fabrication, low cost, light weight and possibility to fabricate flexible devices. It is believed that the acidity of PEDOT:PSS may be the culprit of device degradation. PEDOT:PSS is known to etch the underlying ITO layer when it is cast onto the ITO surface during the device fabrication process. In this work, we explore WOx layer as an anodic buffer in the conventional P3HT:PCBM bulk-hetero-junction cells. It is expected that the device using WOx as buffer layers has a significantly high short circuit current and good fill factor due to the stability of chemical reaction and low contact resistance leading to a good power conversion efficiency. The physical properties of the device have been also studied from the measurements of impedance spectroscopy, photocurrent, which directly show the mechanism occurring inside OPV devices. |
