제목 Evaluation of various sizes of PLGA microspheres to be used in an injectable system for tissue engineered intervertebral disc
초록 To overcome limited success of surgical IVD treatment, tissue engineering offers alternative techniques. We assessed the cell growth behaviors with PLGA microspheres. We fabricated the various sizes of PLGA microspheres using O/W method. Morphology of PLGA microspheres were characterized by SEM. NP cells were used of attachment, proliferation, and gene expression within the various sizes of PLGA microspheres. Cell morphology was studied by SEM. Cell proliferation was analyzed using MTT. We observed specific gene expression of NP cell in RT-PCR. SEM showed that cells could bridge between microspheres. MTT revealed that the cells proliferated the PLGA microspheres in the range with 250 μm. In RT-PCR, there was not a significant difference between the levels of specific NP cell gene expression. The PLGA microshperes could create an injectable system for tissue engineered intervertebral disc. This research was supported by Musculoskeletal Bioorgan Center (0405-BO01-0204-0006) by KMOHW.
