제목 Synthesis of biodiesel from waste cooking oil with sulfated metal oxide
초록 In this work, sulfated metal oxides were prepared and used as solid acid catalysts to produce biodiesel from waste cooking oil(WCO). The catalysts were characterized by XRD, FE-SEM and FT-IR. The conversion of methyl ester was investigated by Gas Chromotygraphy analysis. It was found that among various sulfated metal oxides the sulfated bismuth oxide(S-Bi2O3) is the most active catalyst which can catalyze simultaneously the transesterification and esterification. The optimization of reaction parameters with S-Bi2O3 catalyst indicated that the maximum ester yield of 91% can be obtained at reaction temperature of 125℃, oil to methanol molar ratio of 1:20 and 5wt.% catalysts loading.
