Air stable and mechanically robust polymer solar cells were produced by polystyrene nanospheres (PS NSs) templated poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) film with three different sizes of PS NSs. The photovoltaic performances of both high efficiency PSCs using PTB7:PCBM active layer exhibited a consistent power conversion efficiency (~7.5 %) even if volume fraction of PS NSs was increased up to 0.7, whereas air stability significantly enhanced. To characterize the air stability, thermogravimetric analysis and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were carefully performed under ambient condition. Thus, humidity and etching rate of indium oxide on the glass substrate were effectively decreased. In addition, mechanical properties of PEDOT:PSS films and devices were tested by two different test methods. Interestingly, interfacial interaction between PS NSs-PEDOT:PSS film and PTB7:PCBM active layer was significantly improved comparing with pristine PEDOT:PSS. |
