제목 | Template-Assisted self-assembly of banana-shaped liquid crystals for 3D-nanofabrication |
초록 | There has been big advances in scientific understanding of controlled self-assembly system of softmatters, especially nano-scaled organic molecules that generally called liquid crystals (LCs). Banana-shaped liquid crystals (BCLCs) are one of promising candidates as nanobuilding blocks to generate various kind of functional nanostructures, by their unique assembling behavior and directional/functional properties aroused by bent-shaped molecular shape. Here, by simply combining with the spacial nanoconfinement using anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) nanochannels, we developed a novel 3D-nanofabrication system to generate functional helical nanostructures that based on template-assisted self-assembly (TSA). Due to the highly restricted hierachical molecular assembly system by the spatial confinement, in which the channel dimension is flexibly controllable of its diameter or depth, a various kind of crystal morphologies can be produced such a s 3D-helical rods, bamboo-like structure or nanodisc. This system would provide a new approach addressing potential future develupment in LC technologies, especially in manipulating of electro optical applications. |
