A novel alternating polymers with fluorinated quinoxaline as electron-deficient unit and five different electron-rich aromatic units were synthesized by Stille and Suzuki coupling reaction. Bis(trimethyltin)-4,8-bis(2-octyloxy)benzo[1,2-b:3,4-b']dithiophene, 4,4-bis(2-ethylhexyl)-4H-cyclopenta[1,2-b:5,4-b']dithiophene, 4,4-dioctyl-4H-silolo[3,2-b:4,5-b']dithiophene, 2,7-dibromo-9,9-bis(2-ethylhexyl)-9H-fluorene, 2,7-dibromo-9-(heptadecan-9-yl)-9H-carbazole were used as donor units in the polymers. The decomposition temperature ( Td, temperature corresponding to 5% weight loss) of all polymers exhibited over 305oC. A highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy level of the polymers was observed in the range of -5.24 to -5.80eV and the electrochemical band gap showed 1.72 to 2.16eV. All polymers displayed the broad absorption spectra from 400 to 700nm. |
