Thermoanalytical Study of Carbon/Carbon Composites with Phenolic Resins and Petroleum Pitch Resins |

In this work, the thermoanalytical properties of PAN-based Carbon fiber-reinforced Carbon matrix composites (C/C composites) manufactured by resin impregnation method were studied. The effect of different resin contents on thermal properties of the C/C composites were investigated with thermal conductivity (TC), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). The surface and structural properties of the C/C composites were measured by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Respectively, experimental results indicated that different resin contents influenced the specific heat and thermal conductivity which were correlated with thermal network formation of the C/C composites. |
