The active materials were prepared with varied contents of binding agents for negative electrodes. The active materials were characterized by BET, TEM, and XRD to analyze the surface area, morphology and structure, respectively. The performances of batteries using as-prepared electrodes were evaluated in terms of charge/discharge cycles, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Accordingly, the optimum content has been established via the comparison of experimental result. Additionally, the different quantities of constituents in binding agent were investigated in the same manner. The optimized binding agent content and binding composition give the improved adhesion and electrical contact between active material particles as well as negative active materials and current collector; these result in the enhanced battery performance. Therefore, the result can provide the beneficial contribution to the commercialization of the advanced lead-carbon batteries. |
