Designing and developing of electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reaction are the key factors for the renewable energy systems such as fuel cell and water splitting. Although some precious metal-based electrocatalysts shows excellent performance, because of their high cost and low durability, there have been efforts to develop non precious metal catalyst. To improve performance, large specific surface area and hierarchical pore structure are critical. Because it can increase the contact area between electrolyte/electrode and facilitate reactant transport. Herein, we develop a hierarchical macroporous Cobalt oxide/carbon composite materials and observed that the structure and performance are dependant on the concontration of precursor. Superior electrocatalytic activity for the ORR and OER in aqueous alkaline media were observed. |
