제목 Synthesis, Characterization, and Medical Applications of Poly(Lactic-co-Glycolic Acid) Grafted Hyaluronic Acid
초록 A novel protocol to prepare poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) [PLGA] grafted hyaluronic acid (HA-PLGA) was successfully developed. HA was chemically modified by grafting adipic acid dihydrazide (ADH) to the carboxyl group of HA in the mixed solvent of water and ethanol, which resulted in high degree of ADH modification up to 85 mol%. When the ADH content in HA-ADH was higher than 80 mol%, HA-ADH became soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide and could be grafted to the activated PLGA with N,N'-dicyclohexyl carbodiimide and N-hydroxysuccinimide. The degree of PLGA modification in HA-PLGA was analyzed by 1H NMR. The resulting HA-PLGA was prepared in the forms of nano-particles, nano-fibers and biphasic films for medical applications. The HA-PLGA derivatives will be investigated further as a novel drug carrier, tissue engineering scaffold and dental barrier film.
