Photostability of CdSe(ZnS) in CdSe(ZnS)/PMMA nanocomposites was investigated using by photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and confocal laser spectrum microscopy (CLSM). We synthesized highly-luminescent CdSe(ZnS) QDs by pyrolysis process and characterized optical properties using UV-visible spectroscopy and PL. TEM measurements showed that monodisperse QDs with 2 ~ 5 nm size was found, possibly emitting unique luminescence properties corresponding to their size: synthesized high-quality CdSe(ZnS) QDs emit different colors (PL spectra 500nm~650nm, FWHM<30nm) according to their size due to “quantum confinement effect”. And we fabricated CdSe(ZnS)/PMMA thin films on quartz substrate using spin-coating of CdSe(ZnS)/PMMA nanocomposites for application to light emitting diodes. The morphologies of nanocomposites were investigated with AFM, SEM, TEM and CLSM. And surface modification of CdSe(ZnS) QDs were performed for better dispersion in PMMA. |
