A lot of reaction schemes have been used for polymer synthesis over the last half century. Among them, coupling reactions are used for monomer synthesis and there are various kinds of the reaction for polymer synthesis as well. These coupling reaction have had a great impact on the development of wide field such as new drugs, electronic industry. Professor Heck, Negishi, and Suzuki who discovered cross coupling in organic synthesis were rewarded for their coupling reaction with last year's Noble Prize in Chemistry. In this lecture, we are going to discuss the synthesis of polymer for organic semiconducting materials such as OLED, OTFT, Solar Cell by carbon-carbon coupling reaction. |
