제목 SK energy’s New CO2-Embeded Polymer Technology: GreenPolTM
초록 SK energy (SKE) has entered into the new world of sustainable plastics by introducing its proprietary CO2-embeded polymer technology, GreenPolTM, an alternating copolymer of CO2 and epoxides. Major advantages are CO2 utilization to valuable materials and low petroleum dependency. Whole production process shows the lowest CO2 emission among existing commodity polymers. Polymer itself is also an eco-friendly material with various useful properties: clean burning, barrier properties to O2 and H2O, enzyme degradability, transparency, printability, adherence, etc. Thanks to these properties, GreenPolTM is applicable to various fields: insulating/shock absorbing material, upholstery, packaging, adhesives, coating, etc. GreenPolTM technology is composed of catalyst, process and product technology. SKE has already developed world best catalyst and process technology, has been developing suitable applications and is making a lot of efforts to expand its applicability and marketability.
