Optimization of the preparation condition of the ETFE-g-PSSA membranes by SEM-EDX |

SEM-EDX instrument has been applied to optimize the preparation condition of the ETFE-g-PSSA membranes prepared by a simultaneous irradiation method in this study. ETFE-g-PSSA membranes with various degrees of grafting (DOG) and thicknesses were prepared in various irradiation conditions and the relative distribution of a grafted polymer chain on the prepared membranes were investigated. SEM-EDX data shows that the optimized ratio of styrene and dichloromethane is considered to be about 60%. Ion exchanging capacity (IEC) and water uptake (WU) of the membranes were measured to characterize the prepared membranes and the results are reported in this presentation. |
