제목 EGF-functionalized Gold-melanin Nanoparticles for Hyperthermia Treatment
초록 We introduce gold and melanin (Au-melanin) hybrid nanoparticles as photothermal agents for thermal ablation of lung cancer cells. To guide these nanoparticles to cancer cells, the Au-melanin nanoparticles were functionalized with epidermal growth factors conjugated with epidermal growth factor (EGF-PEG). These EGF-PEG@Au-melanin nanoparticles exhibited high biocompatibility, efficient cellular internalization, and excellent serum dispersion stability. A549 cells were treated with the EGF-PEG@Au-melanin nanoparticles, followed by irradiated with an 808 nm laser to produce photothermal reactions. The nanoparticles specifically destroyed A549 cells after illumination under near-infrared light (NIR), but did not harm different cell lines.
