Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is one of the most emerging materials to the next-generation transparent electrode instead of indium thin oxide(ITO), because it is flexible, cost-effective and easy to process. However, PEDOT:PSS has still low conductivity for optoelectronic devices. Many types of research for improvement of the electrical property of PEDOT:PSS, but the synthesis itself has not been reported on enhancement of conductivity. Therefore, we investigated that monomer purity is the key factor to the electric property at the synthesis of PEDOT:PSS. In order to identify on the decrease of the electrical conductivity from oxidation of monomer, we have investigated to find the over-oxidation effects. Impure monomer is to be oxidized, can be proved the influence of oxidized monomer by controlling its ratios from 0% to 100% of using whole monomer contents. In our opinion, oxidation of monomer is the main reason for decrease of electrical conductivity, and it makes limited charges of the conductive polymer. |
