The composites of insulating polyethylene matrix and conducting phase (carbon powder) are widely applied for switching elements, conductive paint and others due to large gap of resistance value. Here, the changes of conductivity and dielectric constant which are based on carbon powder addition content are given by and with the respective critical exponents and as variables that are absolute values of what percolation threshold is subtracted from the volume fraction of carbon powder. In these equations, means of which the resistivity of polymer matrix composites is transferred from its sharp decrease to gradual decrease in accordance with the increase of carbon powder addition content. This study is concerned with the electrical property of carbon powder added polyethylene matrix composites. As a result of above, it is confirmed that the temperature coefficient of resistance in the composites below percolation threshold changes from negative (-) to positive (+) at 0.20 |
