An enhanced NO degradation to NH3 using electrogenrated [NiI(CN)4]3- at Pt cathode by electro-scrubbing |
초록 |
Effective degradation of NOx from industrial emission poses major challenge. Besides selective catalytic reduction (SCR) using different catalysts Fe-zeolite, V2O5/SiO2 catalysts are commercially used to NOx reduction process, Electroscrubbing using MEO has attracted considerable interest due to electron used as catalyst. Through our effort, a combined approach of MEO & MER (mediated electrochemical reduction) has been developed for enhanced removal of NO by electroscrubbing. Inspired by direct reduction of NO by polycrystalline and Pt (111) phase cathodes to N2O and NH3 formation, use of Pt cathode could be a beneficial in enhanced reduction of NO by only MER with additional DER (direct electrochemical reduction) process. A lab scale 50 and 400 cm2 working electrode area contained divided electrochemical cell was developed and used to generate [NiI(CN)4]3- in 10 M KOH using polycrystalline Pt cathode with capacity of 0.6 to 2 L scrubbing solution (catholyte). The electrogenerated [NiI(CN)4]3- was concurrently scrubbed the feed gas NO at electroscrubbing. This NO reduction process was monitored FTIR gas analyser. |
