제목 Advanced Functional Nano Materials for Electronic Devices and Applications
초록 Functional nano materials are promising candidates for electronic device applications because of their good processability, structural simplicity, low-cost potential and 3D stacking capability. The material self-assembly can be tuned to yield distinct hierarchal structures and it has been shown that the molecular level interactions affect the entire device performance.  
This talk will present how the molecular interactions affect the electronic device properties in ferroelectric polymers, small molecule solar cells, organic transistors and Li-O2 battery. We find that controlling the molecular packing in ferroelectric polymers, surface controlled carbon and small molecule materials yields more efficient devices. This could be achieved by changing the chain conformation of the ferroelectric polymer and control the intermolecular packing of small molecules in thin films. The controlled molecular structures are analyzed by using grazing incidence X-ray diffraction and selective area electron diffraction. Furthermore, to achieve high performance devices, single layer graphene is used for source drain electrodes with ultra-flat hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) flake. Detailed methods and mechanistic studies will be discussed throughout the talk.
