제목 Effect of silane-grafted magnesium hydroxide on flame resistance and dispersion properties of polypropylene matrix
초록 In this study, we studied the effects of silane coupling agents on dispersion properties of magnesium hydroxide. We also investigated the relationship between the dispersion properties of magnesium hydroxide and the flame resistance of the polypropylene (PP) matrix. As a result, the dispersion properties of the magnesium hydroxide was found to increase upon grafting of the silane coupling agent, resulting in increasing the flame resistance of PP matrix. These results indicated that the aggregation of magnesium hydroxide particles in the PP was blocked by grafting of the silane coupling agent which led to the improvement of flame resistance of PP matrix.
