The antibacterial and ulcer healing effect of the manuka honey based carboxymethyl cellulose hydrogel |
초록 |
Manuka honey is derived from the manuka tree, a native of New Zealand. The aims of this study were to evaluate the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory activities, the wound healing and the treatment of diabetic ulcer on the manuka honey based carboxymethyl cellulose hydrogel (CMC). CMC powder and manuka honey were dissolved in deionized water, and then irradiated by a gamma-ray to make the manuka honey based CMC hydrogel. In this experiment, the antibacterial activities of against S.aureus and E.coli have been studied by two methods: in liquid as well as on solid growth media. Antibacterial tests indicated that the manuka honey based hydrogel has antibacterial activity. Also, animal tests of the manuka honey based hydrogel for diabetic ulcer were displayed eminent healing result. |
