제목 | Smart Recycling of Poly(vinyl chloride) Membrane into Highly Dehydrochlorinated Polyacetylene-like Structures |
초록 | Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) is widely used, e.g. for pipes, electrical cable and packing due to its low cost and good processibility. The consumption of PVC is increasing year by year, which causes the problem of waste treatment. PVC waste is not environmentally friendly because of halogen content. Also the chlorine gases generated in the combustion process are very hazardous. Therefore, the recycling of PVC waste is becoming an important issue. Chemical modification of PVC can be an alternative to recycling. PVC can be modified by elimination of HCl with a strong base or by substitution with another functional group. In this study, Polyvinyl chloride membrane was dehydrochlorinated by elimination reaction using Potassium tert-butoxide. |
