제목 Very Fast Synthesis of Polypeptides Mediated by Stable Imidazolium Hydrogen Carbonate Precatalysts
초록 The living ring-opening polymerization of α-amino acid N-carboxyanhydride utilizing air stable imidazolium hydrogen carbonate precatlysts. This organocatalytic approach provides polypeptides with controlled molecular weight, narrow polydispersity, and well-defined terminal group. The polymerizations can be completed within 10-100 min, in sharp contrast to conventional methods requiring several days. Due to the high nucleophilicity of N-heterocyclic carbenes, the ring-opening polymerization of NCAs avoids side reactions such as chain-breaking transfer and termination reactions since they have no time to happen. The [NHC(H)(HCO3)] precursors are also easy to handle due to low air-sensitivity.
