Noble metals have a high catalytic activity for various chemical reactions and are widely used as homogeneous catalysts and heterogeneous catalysts. In recent years, a lot of research on nanoparticles has been studied, and the application of catalysts including the synthesis of Pd nanoparticles has also been progressing even more actively. Here, we report the new heterogenized Pd nanoparticles on hydrogel microparticles. The Pd nanoparticles were synthesized by microwave-assisted polyol process with PVP and water soluble Pd precursor. The synthesized PVP doped Pd nanoparticles were incorporated into the hydrogel microparticles prepared by the micromolding method with UV-curable materials (pre-polymer and hydroxyl group containing prepolymer). The immobilized Pd nanoparticles were stabilized by hydrogen bonding between PVP and backbone of hydrogel network. The prepared catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic activity and were stable even after reuse or storing in the solvent. These indicate that the polymer doped noble metal nanoparticles can be applied to this method and will be useful for various liquid phase chemical reaction. |
