제목 Enhancing performance of random terpolymer based organic solar cells applicable to large area with thick film
초록 We developed random terpolymer PDT2fBT-BT10-based solar cells, by mixing with PC71BM on an inverted structure and comparing it to control device with FBT-Th4 reference polymer with the same structure. PDT2fBT-BT10 with small proportions of FBT unit efficiently conserves preferred face-on orientation, and high crystallinity in blend films compared to FBT-Th4 and forms the improved morphology beneficial for photovoltaic properties with high solubility and processability. Resultingly, a PCE of 10.31% in solar cells with 0.2 cm2 of active area achieved. PDT2fBT-BT10-based large area devices exhibited good reproducibility over a broad range of the thickness. Organic photovoltaics with 1 cm2 active area and a 351 nm thick BHJ film showed a high efficiency of 9.42%. From these results, donor polymers, which satisfy factors such as thick film formation, high hole mobility, and excellent processability, is considered crucially for the manufacture of large area polymer solar cells.
