제목 Edge-Selective Graphene Functionalization as Reinforcement for Polyimide-Based Barrier Films
초록 A series of polyimide (PI) nanocomposite films for improving barrier properties with different content of edge-selective functionalized graphene (EFG) was fabricated via in-situ polymerization. EFG was obtained by ball-mill process containing dry ice, from which carboxyl functional groups were attached to the peripheral basal plane of graphene. EFG has clean basal plane without detriment and is free from chemical oxidation compared to graphene oxide (GO). Due to its unique properties, EFG would be advantageous in improving especially some physical properties such as barrier and electrical conductivity properties. The resulting PI nanocomposite films that contained EFG exhibited reinforcement effects of oxygen barrier properties and mechanical properties that were even better than those of neat PI and the reference nanocomposites containing GO and graphite.
