Cyclodextrin can be used as a nano-sized drug carrier in the drug delivery system. To improve the solubility of cyclodextrin in the aqueous solution, the hydroxypropyl α/ß-cyclodextrin (HPCD) was synthesized. Its derivatives were characterized using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and elemental analysis. Various vitamins were introduced into the HPCD. The loading efficiency was investigated using UV-spectroscopy. In addition, the vitamin release profiles from the HPCD were evaluated in an aqueous solution. To apply HPCD to the antioxidant agent, the antioxidant efficiency was measured from vitamin-loaded HPCDs, in the result of sustained and elongated property as an antioxidant. |
